Bheki and Tendi | Wedding | Toadbury Hall Country Hotel
Bheki and Tendi’s wedding at Toadbury Hall was truly amazing and full of tears!
"The joy of the Lord is your strength" (Nehemiah 8:10)
Bheki and Tendi tied the knot at the gorgeous Toadbury Hall Country Hotel and it was such a joyous occasion. They are such a sweet couple with a the joy of the Lord in their hearts…I mean they were literally dancing the whole day!
Wow, Cheri from 2IC Event Management, you guys did an amazing job with setting up their wedding. Bheki and Tendi initially planned to have their wedding in Mauritius but Covid made it impossible.
Wow, I don’t have many words but I think the photos will do the talking! Enjoy, and please share…we need more joy in the world!
George & Charlene | Engagement shoot | Toadbury Hall
Wow, I had a blast capturing George and Charlene’s engagement shoot at the beautiful Toadbury Hall.

Some people are worth melting for - Olaf
It was raining quite a bit the past few days and I mentioned to Charlene that we can continue with their engagement shoot if there is a little rain, but if it rains quite hard, then we might not do the shoot…but she said…” No I don’t mind a little rain!”. AWESOME.
We as photographers LOVE rain photos. I mean I know its not too much fun when you get soaked and you need to survive for a day being super wet, but getting wet for an hour is fun, right? Well, I think so, and I know the photos normally ROCK when it rains.
Funny enough…the rain kinda stopped when we did the shoot at Toadbury Hall, and I was a little disappointed because I prepped for some serious rain. I placed my off-camera flashes in plastic bags, I had an umbrella and I had a big plastic bag for my camera…and I wanted a shot with lots and lots of rain…and we got a few shots with little rain…but hey…we can’t complain for not getting soaked! We had blue skies and sun at some point…and air was so beautiful and clean….yup…a blessing in disguise!
George and Charlene are getting married at Galagos Wedding venue later this year, and they are the first two getting married in the Nel family. I recently posted an engagement shoot of Rohan and Neruschke…well Rohan and Charlene are siblings and they are both getting married this year, one month apart…and I am privileged to capture both their weddings. :)
Charlene, your make-up looked amazing and that dress from Cocoberry was absolutely divine!

Serenade to a love song! | Styled Shoot | Toadbury Hall
Wow, I just loved working with crazy cool suppliers in the wedding industry. It was my first time working with Josh Ansley and his wife Kerryn Ansley...they were super fun and so beautiful inside and out! Venue: Toadbury Hall
Serenade to a love song! | Styled Shoot | Toadbury Hall
‘’Love is a song that never ends. Life may be swift and fleeting, hope may die, yet love's beautiful music comes each day like the dawn. Love is a song that never ends. One simple theme repeating. Like the voice of a heavenly choir Love's sweet music flows on’’ (Disney’s Bambi)
I attended a photography conference recently and the speaker said "if you do not put yourself in the shoots you are doing then you will lose interest". What she meant was that if you do not photograph things you like or like doing, you will eventually grow tired of doing this.
I love music. I am not a musician, but I used to play piano and trumpet when I was a kid. The trumpet thing didn't last long, and I think my parents were happy...hehehe. I recently bought myself a guitar to learn to play, and I have music playing in our house almost 24/7. One of my passions is to photograph live music events, so long story short...I love music.
So my idea was....Musicians need to get married too...and I had this idea of doing a super stylish shoot where the groom serenades his soon to be wife! I took this idea to Natasha from Weddings by Tasha and we collaborated to create this amazing shoot with vendors in the Wedding Industry. Natasha are personal friends with Josh and Kerryn Ansley (Josh Ansley was the runner-up winner of The Voice SA 2nd Season, and boy oh boy this guy is talented!), so she suggested we use them for the shoot...and I was over the moon!
I also asked two of my friends Tebogo and Jaqueline to model for us, to get a different perspective of the day.
We also wanted a forest look, so Toadbury Hall Wedding Venue was the perfect fit with their forest chapel area and river.
I truly loved doing this shoot, and I just love how everything came together perfectly. Natasha you are a machine in organising everybody!
Here is a list of all the suppliers who were involved:

A dash of gold at Toadbury {Stefan & Ele's e-session}
Stefan & Ele's beautiful gold toned engagement shoot pictures, done at Toadbury Hall Country Hotel, are on my blog!
"A bell’s no bell ’til you ring it, a song’s not a song ’til you sing it, Love in your heart wasn’t put there to stay, Love isn’t love ’til you give it away." - Oscar Hammerstein II
How did I get so lucky....! I promise, this is not a styled shoot and they are not models. Elé is such a beauty!
We met up at Woolworths Cafe at Nicolway, and I immediately just fell in love with who they are as a couple. They are such down to earth people, fun to be around with, and yet super stylish. When I asked that they bring a bottle of champagne for the shoot, they brought a Moët. Impressive taste. Elé's ForeverNew dress was out of this world and her make-up, done by MAC, Sandton, was just perfect!
Wow, I loved doing this shoot and I can't wait for the wedding in January 2017!
The venue, Toadbury Hall, is one of those pinch-yourself-is-this-real venues, and I am so glad we did the shoot there. I chose to set up in the Rose Chapel with items from my house (yes, my wife decorates our house with Rose Gold (beautiful hey?), and she chose the theme for me for this shoot to fit Elé's dress). I bought a Petit Rouge chandelier stencil (IzzitArt) and the beautiful flowers from the Fourways Flower Market, and I used the chandelier to spraypaint chandeliers in Rose Gold on a pallet (or actually my wife did) and I just loved how this all complimented Elé's beautiful dress!
